I now have found the original article that got me thinking about this. It was in the Science section of the NY Times yesterday. The Certainty of Memory Has Its Day in Court by Laura Beil. What I love is the line she uses, "Scientist have long cautioned that the brain is not a filing cabinet, storing memories in a way that can be pulled out..."

Thanks, Hella, for reminding people about ethical wills. Barry Baines's site is great, but there are MANY more sites providing help on the subject. I've posted links to them here:

Watching last nights Grammy Awards made me think many people travel back. Miranda Lambert's award winning song was the perfect personal history. Many of us go back...all for our special reasons. <a href="http://youtu.be/DQYNM6SjD_o" rel="nofollow">

Many people are not willing to look back as you discovered for what ever reasons. Many feel that their lives are so different today that they do not want to look at who they were, so they just want to live in the present and the past happened and there is nothing they can do with that information. For many of us, knowing our past and how it affects the choices we make helps us in the present and clearly helps the future. Sometimes the pain of high school is too much and we should forget it. But we know that all of us, not matter how popular or not, had pain in high school. No one was immune. I hope the phase of our lives made us better adults. We can forgive others, we can understand the needs of others and we can grow from it. I find the road back filled with surprises...mostly good which is why I help people travel there. I hope you will try to connect with others and see if that does not help your journey.
