here are different thoughts about how to start a writing project. Some people think you need to do an outline of your life to give you the guide to start writing. This path means you start at the beginning of our life and you proceed in a straight order.Some people need a linear order to write and keep writing. Another thought is to do a time line where you list the major dates of events of your life .

Some people spend their time in the present tense so they only mention relatives as they encounter them in their story. Some people start their stories with the previous generations before starting their own stories. There is no better way or even right way. It depends on how you are telling the story. I write this column for most of us that who want to write a book for your families not financial success. These life stories might be commercially successful if marketed but that is not the reason for writing them. It really is to add a connection with the family members that they might have a sense of who came before them. |
