Facebook's Old Friends

You gotta have friends…I can hear the song playing in my head with Bette Midler singing, “But you got to have friends The feeling’s oh so strong, You go to have friends ,To make that day last long.”

I think any life story needs for you to include all the friends you have made in journey of your life. Yes you want to write about you family and for some of us our family members are our best friends. I think of all the friends I have rediscovered on facebook and the ones I am still looking for. I amazed how many of my elementary school and high school friends are using Facebook and it is great to make a new connection to the people I have not seen or talked to in over 20 some years. It is through that prism  I see how different friends  filled different roles at different times of  my life. Some have nurtured me, some gave me strength, some celebrated in my success and some taught me the lessons of life but they all helped formed the person I am today. My family gave me the DNA for the potential and  I had no choice but all the friends in my life either chose me or I chose them. And without those friends  I would not be who I am today so I want to say thank you all for making me, me.
