Loosing Trust a Writing Opportunity

Recently watching television I noticed people talking about their loosing faith in government. It made me think about loosing faith in lots of things that would make good life story writing. I probably have one major trigger a day about one might want to write about.

I remember when my dad took his hand off my bike when I was riding with my training wheels off for the first time. I was mad at him. Years later I look back and realize the he was confident in my abilities and that event gave me more confidence to try other things.

I lost faith in my mother when I was in the hospital to have my tonsils taken out.  The nurse took me to surgery by telling me I was going to pick out ice cream. I was so mad that when I came back to the room, I kicked my mother. I hope they don’t do that to children anymore.

When did I loose my faith in government? You may want to look at a recent article I wrote on http://mymidlife.com/my-history I really think loosing faith in institutions and people is another word disappointment in your expectations. You do not stay mad forever but it for ever changes you relationship. Some time our expectations are unrealistic and some times other people do not meet their own expectations. That is another thing to write about.

TRIGGERS:

1.Did you ever loose your faith in:

  1. Mother

  4. Religion (sometime prior to having more religious experience)

2.How did you feel when you were told there was no Santa Clause?

3.How did you feel when you were told there was no tooth fairy?

4.How did you feel when you learned Robin Hood did not exist?
