Occasionally on this blog I will post an announcement that I receive that I feel will help you get to your goals of writing a memoir or a life story. I want you to have the best information. If you see something, you can always bring to my attention too. The goal is document your story for future generations. I have no financial interests in the workshops listed below.
National Association of Memoir Writers or Memories and Memoirs.  is having workshops that may fit into your schedule. I have sat in on some of their free webinars and found them informative.

We’re especially excited about our upcoming “Harvesting Our Wisdom: Napa Valley Writing Retreat,scheduled for the weekend of November 6-November 8, 2009.  Linda Joy Myers, President of NAMW leads only 2 of these retreats per year. At this retreat you can write in whatever style you prefer, whether it is a memoir, fiction, or poetry. This special retreat time invites you to focus on yourself and and tune into the inner source of the stories you want to write.Feedback is supportive, accepting your work, thoughts, and being with full presence and unconditional acceptance.

Visualization, memory exercises, drawing, and group sharing open up your well of stories to draw from. At the end of a weekend that goes all too quickly, you will have several new stories, a timeline, and a writing plan to take home with you.  During the retreat there is also time for mud baths and walks, individual writing time, and consultations with Linda about your work.

Kim Pearson’s 6-week Workshop teleseminar, “Playing Your Part on the World Stage: How Your Memoir Intersects with History” begins on October 1st. There are still a few spaces left!
